Robin Venters Here is a personal note from RV–
Hello, My name is Robin E. Venters. I was born August 26th, 1953 here in Oklahoma City. In 1971,I went to work for Landrum’s Guitar Center at 4305 N. Western, here in Oklahoma City. During the two years that I worked at Landrum’s Guitar Center, I informally apprenticed with the nationally known author, guitar builder, and repairman Don Teeter. The main focus, during my first several years in the music business, was guitar repair. I went to work for Driver Music Company in September of 1973. Driver Music was at the time, the largest music and sound retailer in the state.

In November of 1984,I obtained a position with Peavey Electronics, in Meridian Mississippi. My initial job description at Peavey was Factory Guitar and Amplifier Clinician. My primary duties were to travel with the Factory Reps, and do dealer and consumer technical and sales training. In September of 1987 I obtained the position with Peavey of Authorized Area Sales Representative fro all of Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, and most of Arkansas.

All of this background information is just to say that due to seeing so many retailers, I have had the great good fortune to see operations that really took great care of their customers, and some that didn’t do it so well. My intention is to create a pleasant shop that can provide my family and employees an income stream, while offering the music enthusiast a nice place to shop, free of the chaos of the chain stores, with as good or better prices as any source, filled with both the expected, and the surprising merchandise that will exceed the players expectations.

Great guy, guitar tech, Super Bassist, Chris Greenley

Chris Greenley, OKC Music’s resident Bass expert has a long a successful carrier in the music business. Beginning in Texas in 1989, Chris took his music degree from Texas Tech and parlayed it into gainful employment at a large music retail chain. With stints at several shops in Texas and Oklahoma, most recently at Norman Music Center from 1995 till 2004, followed by Granny’s Music Mall from 04′ till early 08′. Chris plays Bass with several local groups, and is expert in many musical disciplines.

With years of experience in guitar and bass repair and set up there are dozens of area pros who wouldn’t go on stage without Chris’s set up being done to thier instrument. As Chris says, “I put the love “in” the instruments” …we’re not exactly sure what that means, but guitars sure play good after he does his thing to them………………………………………………………………………………………………..

Please Join us in welcoming to the staff here Chad Epley. Chad is a drummer, and a great guy who really helps us here, because he lowers the average age of our staff by 11 years!!  Now that I’m so much younger I feel more energetic ….Seriously Chad’s whole family is in the music business. His Aunt, Dana Jo, was the owner of “Drums Only”, and his step dad, Doug Bundy, is a wholesale rep for many top lines.

Chad will be a great help to us and you all now that he is captured here in the mad house!!
